Taking a look at the up-to-date 2021 NFL Draft order

With the regular season behind us, the first 18 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft are set. While the first two picks were already set going into the week, we now know who will be picking behind the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets. This updated 2021 NFL Draft order comes via Tankathon.

Updated 2021 NFL Draft order after Week 17

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars
  2. New York Jets
  3. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans)
  4. Atlanta Falcons
  5. Cincinnati Bengals
  6. Philadelphia Eagles
  7. Detroit Lions
  8. Carolina Panthers
  9. Denver Broncos
  10. Dallas Cowboys
  11. New York Giants
  12. San Francisco 49ers
  13. Los Angeles Chargers
  14. Minnesota Vikings
  15. New England Patriots
  16. Arizona Cardinals
  17. Las Vegas Raiders
  18. Miami Dolphins

  27. New York Jets (via Seattle Seahawks)
  28. Pittsburgh Steelers
  29. New Orleans Satins
  30. Buffalo Bills
  31. Green Bay Packers
  32. Kansas City Chiefs

Obviously, the final 14 spots in this draft order are still to be determined as the post-season unfolds. That being said, these first 18 spots are set. The Miami Dolphins, who are undoubtedly bummed to be after narrowly missing the plays, have to be happy with picking third overall. The Laremy Tunsil trade with the Houston Texans is the gift that keeps on giving and the 4-12 Texans gave in a big way this year.

At No. 3, the Dolphins could decide to solidify their offensive line with the selection of Penei Sewell or perhaps take a pass-catcher like Ja’Marr Chase or Devonta Smith. However, a potential trade down stands out as perhaps the most likely choice for Miami.

Trading down a handful of spots for a team looking to come up for Sewell or a quarterback would make plenty of sense for the Dolphins. Ideally, they could still come away with Chase or Smith and a handful of extra draft capital.
