2021 NFL Draft: Five quarterbacks go in first round of new mock draft

Pick 31 – Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers in 2020 has looked like perhaps the best form of himself we’ve ever witnessed. Not only that, but he’s doing it with practically just Davante Adams at wide receiver. Allen Lazard, Marques Valdez-Scantling and Robert Tonyan have shown flashes, but the Packers really lack a true second target for Rodgers.
In the past, we’ve hoped that Green Bay would take a wide receiver in the first to help Rodgers, but instead, they took his predecessor. They can correct that mistake here by taking Chris Olave.
Olave had a good season, but he really showcased his skills in the game against Clemson. He simply picked apart the Tigers’ defense and looked like an NFL-ready wide receiver with star potential. Over his last 19 games going back to last season, Olave has 19 touchdowns, which seems to fit what the Packers do in Green Bay and expect from their wide receivers.
Pick 32 – Kansas City Chiefs
The tribulations of 2020 has created a lot of iterations of the Kansas City offensive line and one spot they could upgrade is their guards. Currently, they are starting 2019 seventh-round pick Nick Allegretti at left guard. While he’s been able to get the job done, Creed Humphrey should be able to do it better.
Humphrey was a second-team All-American in 2019 and has blocked for Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts and now Spencer Rattler. Athletic quarterbacks who scramble are no stranger to him, making him an ideal player to block for Patrick Mahomes who likes to extend and create plays at will.
