Pick 27 – New York Jets (From Seattle Seahawks)

WR. 27. Pick Analysis. Terrace Marshall Jr.. player. 30. Scouting Report. LSU

If the New York Jets opt to take a quarterback with their first pick, no matter who it is, they will have to add weapons around him as well. Whether it’s a wide receiver or a running back or even a tight end, this pick almost has to be used on an offensive playmaker for the quarterback to be successful.

At 6-foot-3, Terrace Marshall Jr. provides a huge target for any rookie quarterback to find when in trouble. Marshall hasn’t necessarily racked up the yards, never topping more than 750 receiving yards in a season, but what he does in the red zone makes this pick worth it.

Over the last two seasons, Marshall has hauled in 23 touchdown receptions in only 19 games. Those numbers should be more than enough to turn heads during the draft process. For a team that will need a security blanket, Marshall seems like the perfect fit.

Pick 28 – Pittsburgh Steelers

Pick Analysis. Kyle Trask. 28. Scouting Report. QB. Florida. player. 55

While the Pittsburgh Steelers have been successful this season, Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t looked like himself. He hasn’t been able to throw deep the way we’ve witnessed in the past and has an opt-out option at the end of this season. Whether it be retirement, opting out or coming back for just one more season before his deal expires the Steelers need to plan for the post-Roethlisberger era.

They have Mason Rudolph, but in his chances, he’s looked like nothing more than a game manager at best. For that reason, the Steelers take their quarterback of the future in Kyle Trask. A Heisman hopeful, Trask had an incredible season at Florida, but how much of that success was because of Kyle Pitts?

That question will be what could hold Trask back, but his 4,283 passing yards this season and 43 touchdowns with just eight interceptions will be hard to pass up for the quarterback-needy Steelers this late in the first round.
