Outback Bowl Indiana vs. Ole Miss: Top NFL Draft prospects to watch
By Evan Orris
Lakia Henry, LB, Ole Miss
Lakia Henry is the leader of this Ole Miss defense. He leads the team with 62 tackles, five tackles for loss and has added two sacks to go along with it. He is the typical sideline-to-sideline linebacker with impressive chase down speed.
Henry was a highly-ranked JUCO recruit before transferring to Ole Miss and has been an immediate contributor to their defense, playing in all 21 games since arriving in Oxford. Henry has already told the media that he intends to stay at Ole Miss next season to perfect his craft.
"“I have to increase my football knowledge,” Henry said. “It was a couple of times out there on the field where I didn’t know what was going on. That’s not a good thing for a linebacker. I always have to know what’s going on. I always have to know what everybody is doing. It was certain times where I felt like that wasn’t the case.” “I didn’t come out as strong as I wanted to. I’ve just got to work harder, if we’re being honest. I feel like that (returning) will put me in a better position to go in the first three (rounds). So, I didn’t do that this year. I expect more from myself, and this team expects more of me, too.” -Lakia Henry (via 247sports.com)"
Henry is a bit undersized at 6-foot tall, but has the athleticism to make up for it. It also shows something about his character to realize his flaws and attempt to fix them before moving on to the next level. One thing many prospects never can do. Henry should be a riser on NFL Draft boards next year.
