Ty Fryfogle, WR, Indiana

Ty Fryfogle’s season has been highlighted by a red-hot November. In just a three-game stretch, Fryfogle caught 25 passes for 560 yards and six touchdowns. Since starting quarterback Michael Penix went down with an ACL injury, it has been a different story for Fryfogle. In the past two games, he only has three catches for 45 yards. The Outback Bowl will be a huge opportunity to get his draft stock up one more time.

At 6-foot-2, 214 pounds, Fryfogle is a typical red zone target. He is a big-bodied receiver who loves contact. Many times throughout the season, Penix would simply give a back-shoulder throw and let him go up and make the catch. Including a touchdown against Ohio State, where Fryfogle was able to make the catch despite a clear holding call.

‘Ty Fry’ is not the speedster like his fellow wideout Whop Philyor, but he is a solid receiver after the catch. He opts to use his body by seeking out contact and bouncing off defenders to pick up extra yards. Fryfogle really needs to improve on his route running, but with the right coaching, a team could take a late-round flier on him in the 2021 NFL Draft. Saturday’s game will help to figure out which round he might be drafted in.
