Predicting the 2021 NFL Draft with our final mock draft of 2020

As we celebrate the end of 2020, let’s have some fun and look ahead, once again, to the 2021 NFL Draft. While the draft order will likely be shaken up when Week 17 is completed, we have a good idea where most teams are picking. Without further ado, here is our final mock draft of the year.

Note: This 2021 NFL Draft order comes via Tankathon.

52. Pick Analysis. QB. Clemson. Trevor Lawrence. player. Scouting Report. 1

You can lock this one in right now. With the Jacksonville Jaguars securing the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft over the weekend, Trevor Lawrence will begin his pro career in Duval County. Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect in recent memory and would immediately give the Jaguars a chance to turn this franchise around.

Lawrence is the best prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class and will quickly become one of the premier young players in the entire league. Jacksonville cannot pass up this chance to make him their franchise quarterback.

2. Pick Analysis. QB. BYU. Zach Wilson. Scouting Report. player. 30

The New York Jets lost out on the Lawrence sweepstakes but they are still in a great position to land a true franchise quarterback. Justin Fields is still a legitimate option for the Jets here at No. 2 but the recent play of BYU quarterback Zach Wilson has to make him the favorite at this point.

With Lawrence off of the board, the Jets could decide to go in another direction with this pick. That being said, solidifying their quarterback situation with the selection of Wilson stands out as the best choice for the organization.

Pick Analysis. OT. 3. player. 59. Scouting Report. Oregon. Penei Sewell

This pick comes to Miami via the Houston Texans

If the Miami Dolphins stand pat here at No. 3, a trade down will likely be under heavy consideration. However, if they decide to stand pat, Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell stands out as the best choice.

Sewell is a legitimately elite offensive tackle prospect who has massive upside at the next level. The Dolphins took Austin Jackson in the first round last year and he has been solid at left tackle. Whether Jackson or Sewell moves to the right side, this pick would help solidify their entire offensive line.

Scouting Report. Justin Fields. 4. player. 44. Pick Analysis. QB. Ohio State

The Justin Fields hype is starting to fade a bit but when we look at his college career as a whole and his impressive natural skill set, he should still be looked at as a top-tier 2021 NFL Draft prospect. The Atlanta Falcons may be hesitant to invest such a valuable pick in the quarterback position but Matt Ryan is not getting any younger.

The Falcons do not know when they will be picking this high again and capitalizing on the opportunity to snag a legitimate franchise quarterback would be wise. Fields’ combination of arm talent and athleticism is special and he still needs to be taken seriously as a top-five selection.
