Tight End. Florida. Kyle Pitts. Pick Analysis. 1. player. 840. Scouting Report

This mock starts out with the New York Jets adding more weapons to help out Darnold. The tight end position isn’t solved in New York, as Chris Herndon has had an availability issue. It’s time to find someone who can make an impact early and often.

Kyle Pitts is that guy. Pitts is one of the best tight ends to come out in the NFL Draft in a few years. He’s a dynamic athlete that fits well as a flex tight end who can take snaps on the perimeter or in the slot. Pitts has rare quicks and change of direction skills for a tight end and showed off his release game in the SEC Championship. He doesn’t fear contested situations and is a major red zone threat.

Pitts even succeeds after the catch. He’s the complete package and would make the Jets much more dangerous on offense.

Pick Analysis. Jaycee Horn. player. Scouting Report. Cornerback. South Carolina. 1. 850

The secondary has been a drag for the Jets for several seasons now, and the front office hasn’t been able to secure an elite player at the corner spot. Rookie Bryce Hall is finding some success, but finding someone to play opposite him will be important.

Jaycee Horn has been one of the risers in the 2021 NFL Draft class this season, and he’d fit just fine with the Jets. He has sufficient transitional quickness, very good ball skills, and is physical at the line of scrimmage in man coverage. Horn can also close quickly when in off-man or zone. Adding Horn brings a very good piece to the secondary.
