The Cleveland Browns safety position entered the season with plenty of question marks after Grant Delpit went down with an injury. Players like Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo were expected to step up and the only one of the group that has looked like a long-term solution is Ronnie Harrison.

With Delpit and Harrison expected to be in the mix long-term, the Browns still need one more safety to feel good about the position group. A single injury could derail the group like we saw this season and most teams are using three safeties at some points, making a third player even more important at the position.

Trevon Moehrig is one of few safeties that have first-round talent, so there’s a chance he could be off the board before the Browns are on the clock. However, if he is available then he could fit perfectly.

Moehrig’s best ability is to locate the ball and either knock it down or pick it off. Over 33 career games at TCU, he was able to log seven interceptions and 21 passes defended as well as 124 tackles. Those stats are very similar to Delpit at LSU, being eight picks and 24 passes defended, so adding another player of that caliber would be ideal for the position.
