Cleveland Browns: Five first-round targets in the 2021 NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns are trending in the right direction with a winning season guaranteed, but who should they add in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft? There has been clear improvement for the Browns this season, jumping from the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to be in the playoff picture entering the last week of the season. Even so, there is still plenty of work to be done on the Browns roster, as we witnessed this past week against the New York Jets.
With a depleted roster, the Browns looked like a much different team despite only missing a handful of players. While the surface of the Cleveland Browns looks a lot better, the loss proved that the depth for the team still needs work, as does a few starting positions where weaknesses were exposed.
As the new Browns’ brass of Andrew Berry, Kevin Stefanski and company turn their attention to the 2021 NFL Draft there will be main focal points to target heavily, mainly on the defensive side of the ball.
This season the team was able to use a few band-aid fixes, but long-term answers will be in the works during the upcoming draft. For the first time in a long time, the draft isn’t the focus for Browns fans in late December, but it still carries the same weight to future success.
The Cleveland Browns only have one pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but there will surely be players available that will not only fill needs but have the ability to walk in on day one and have a big impact on the future of the franchise. With that being said, these five players should be under the microscope in the Browns front office to tab as top players to target in the first round.
