Complete seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the Cleveland Browns

Heading into the final week of the season the Cleveland Browns will be playing for their postseason fate after posting their first double-digit win season since 2007. While the focus of the organization is still on this season and the playoffs, some are turning to the 2021 NFL Draft and various 2021 NFL mock draft attempts to see what could be in store.

With a predominately young roster, the Browns will look to add depth this offseason while also addressing any players that might leave the roster. At the top of the needs list will be defensive positions, including linebackers and secondary help. As the draft enters the later rounds, then other positions could be pursued, like the defensive line and offense as well.

For the first time in a long time, the Cleveland Browns will be picking in the back half of the first round and that’s where we begin this seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft.

Round 1, Pick 22

Eric Stokes. player. Pick Analysis. Georgia. CB. 1. 53. Scouting Report

The cornerback position is deep this year, but should the right player be available in the first round the Cleveland Browns could jump at the opportunity to give Denzel Ward a counterpart on the other side of the field. They attempted to do so recently with Greedy Williams, but injuries have plagued Williams’ young career.

As for Eric Stokes, his game is more than what shows up on the stat sheet. Stokes has high expectations entering the season and hasn’t been able to meet them which is why he falls to the Browns here. Despite that, he’s still been a strong player for the Georgia defense.

He has four interceptions this year in just nine games, taking two to the house, being the only player in the nation with two pick-sixes this season. While the interceptions are new this year, he’s always had a knack for finding the ball, registering 22 passes defended over 31 games with Georgia.

Stokes has a lot of potential and his ball-hawking ability is something the Browns’ defense has lacked a bit this year. Taking him to play opposite of Ward is a great way to start this 2021 NFL mock draft.
