2021 NFL Draft 1st round, 32nd overall

124. Scouting Report. player. Missouri. Nick Bolton. 32. Pick Analysis. LB

The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs just seem to be getting better with age.

Although the Chiefs are known for their incredible offense, the defense seems to have a habit of coming up big in huge moments for them even if the statistics don’t show they are one of the league’s top units in terms of yardage allowed.

The Chiefs’ defense is in the top 10 where it counts — points allowed and turnovers forced. They do their job and put the ball back into the hands of no. 15.

Nick Bolton is a local product who will absolutely be able to help keep this defense moving in the right direction.

The Chiefs’ defense is a much better sum of its parts than it is individual pieces, even with some stars like Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu in the mix.

Bolton is a rangy, aggressive, three-down linebacker prospect who has been awesome for Missouri the past few seasons.

Being able to play in coverage is a must for linebackers in today’s NFL. Bolton has 12 pass breakups over the past couple of seasons and has proven his worth in that regard. He also has 16.5 tackles for loss in his last 22 games, so he’s making plays all over the place.

No matter what this pick ends up being, it’s going to feel like the rich just getting even richer.
