2021 NFL Draft 1st round, 27th pick

DL. Pick Analysis. Iowa. Daviyon Nixon. 27. player. Scouting Report. 35

When Nashville hosted the 2019 NFL Draft, the Titans came away with one of the best values in the class snatching defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons in the middle of round one.

Were it not for injury, Simmons would have easily been a top-10 pick and maybe the top defensive lineman off the board.

Now, the Titans have a chance to get arguably the top defensive lineman off the board in this draft class late in the first round in Daviyon Nixon, who could prove to be a steal at this pick.

Nixon was productive in 2019 for the Hawkeyes but all the attention defensively went to star prospect AJ Epenesa, who ended up being a second-round pick to the Buffalo Bills.

Nixon’s productivity has skyrocketed in 2020 and he’s become the most disruptive interior defensive lineman certainly in the Big Ten, perhaps in the entire country.

A pick-six against Penn State showed just how tremendous of an athlete Nixon is. He has speed, quickness, strength, and the ability to finish plays in the backfield.

Pairing him up with Jeffery Simmons in Tennessee would give opposing interior offensive linemen nightmares.
