2021 NFL Draft 1st round, 11th pick

56. Pick Analysis. OT. player. Scouting Report. Virginia Tech. Christian Darrisaw. 11

After missing out on Penei Sewell early in this mock draft scenario, the Bengals traded down for some additional and valuable draft capital and still come away with a very good left tackle prospect.

Christian Darrisaw’s development in 2020 has been one of the most positive and impressive for college prospects in general.

He has always been a very strong run blocker but he took his game as a pass blocker to another level in 2020.

The Bengals, for obvious reasons, need to invest in their pass protection.

Joe Burrow was hit hard and often all year as a rookie, and considering how awesome he was last year at avoiding pressure and avoiding taking hits, it speaks volumes to how poor the Bengals’ offensive line play has truly been.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Bengals go hard after a free agent lineman or two as well as spending their top two picks on the line, perhaps going after someone like Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum in round two.

Darrisaw is a tremendous athlete with length, strength, and a finisher’s mentality who would be an instant upgrade at left tackle.
