Did Zach Wilson take his 2021 NFL Draft stock to the next level with another dazzling performance?

BYU quarterback Zach Wilson put on a show in what will likely be his final game before entering the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson led BYU to a dominant 49-23 victory over UCF in the Boca Raton Bowl on Thursday, putting up massive numbers along the way. Wilson completed 26-of-34 passes for 425 yards and three touchdowns on the night, and also piled on two rushing touchdowns for good measure.

Wilson has massively improved his 2021 NFL Draft stock this season and his performance on Tuesday may have put him all the way over the top. On the year, Wilson has completed 73% of his passes for 3,699 yards, 33 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns and only three interceptions. Wilson is never going to catch Trevor Lawrence as the top quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft class, but he is undoubtedly in the QB2 conversation.

In fact, after his performance in the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, Wilson could easily be considered the leader in the clubhouse for QB2 in the 2021 NFL Draft class.

All season long, Wilson has shown impressive natural playmaking ability from the quarterback position. He is an exciting dual-threat player who does a great job of improvising when the play breaks down. Wilson moves senses pressure well and has the quick feet needed to escape when necessary. He also does a great job of keeping his eyes down the field, always looking for the big play.

Speaking of the big play, Wilson is fantastic at throwing on the run and has more than enough arm strength to hit deep the deep ball. Wilson has great natural arm talent, showing the ability to fit the ball into tight spaces with velocity and complete passes using unique arm angles.

While his accuracy can be a bit inconsistent, Wilson does flash incredible ball placement skills at times. Make no mistake about it, he can place the ball on a dime, I would just like to see him do it more consistently. If this happens, the sky is the limit for Wilson at the next level.

Next. Nothing changes, NYJ Must take a QB at No. 2. dark

Overall, Wilson is clearly a talented quarterback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. He is a fantastic natural playmaker who fits the modern NFL due to his dual-threat skills and ability to improvise and make plays on the run. Trevor Lawrence has the QB1 spot on lock, but Wilson could certainly end up being the second quarterback off of the board in the 2021 NFL Draft next April.
