2021 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars lead Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes

The Jacksonville Jaguars now find themselves in a position to land star quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

On the field, it was not a great day for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they took an ugly 40-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. That being said, today could go down as one of the most important days in the history of the Jaguars’ franchise. With the New York Jets shockingly defeating the Los Angeles Rams 23-20, the Jags are now in a position to land the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. This means that superstar quarterback Trevor Lawrence could easily be on his way to Duval.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 1-13 on the year with only two games remaining. They play host to the Chicago Bears next week before taking on the Indianapolis Colts on the road to finish the season. If the Jags lose both of those games, they will be in possession of the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and will have an opportunity to snag the best quarterback prospect to enter the league in recent memory.

Congratulations to the New York Jets for winning their first game of the season. That being said, potentially losing an opportunity to land a prospect the caliber of Trevor Lawrence could haunt them for years.

Lawrence is an incredibly gifted quarterback who undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level. He has all of the arm talent needed to hit any throw on the football field and can hit difficult throws with pinpoint accuracy at all levels. Lawrence is also an extremely athletic and mobile quarterback who also shows impressive poise in the pocket.

Simply put, Trevor Lawrence has it all at the quarterback position and is the clear top prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class. The Jacksonville Jaguars were already in a nice position to land an impact quarterback, but bringing Lawrence into the mix will undoubtedly take this franchise to the next level.
