Round 2, Pick 34

804. Pick Analysis. CB. Asante Samuel Jr.. 2. Scouting Report. Florida State. player

Picking this high in the second round almost serves as another first-round pick and that’s the type of player that Jacksonville lands with this selection. After taking C.J. Henderson last year, they add a running partner on the opposite side of the field in Asante Samuel Jr.

Over 31 games with Florida State, Samuel has logged 29 passes defended while adding four interceptions to his stat line, three of which have been this season. He has also logged 71 solo tackles and 97 total during his tenure.

Samuel has shown improvement in the interception category while being impressive at knocking the ball down. If he can test well at the combine, then the Jacksonville Jaguars could end up with a steal if he falls to the second round.

Round 2, Pick 52

Oregon. 2. player. Pick Analysis. 820. Scouting Report. S. Jevon Holland

With their extra second-round pick in the 2021 NFL mock draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to build their secondary with Jevon Holland from Oregon, who I wrote about being a potential mid-round steal. Like Samuel, Holland has a knack for locating the ball and making a play.

Since Oregon hasn’t played much in 2020, Holland only had 27 games of experience in college entering this season. However, in his limited experience, he’s been able to snag nine interceptions as well as 10 passes defended. His tackle total is also up to 108, averaging four per game.

Holland has a similar skill set to Samuel and would be a big part of locking down the secondary for Jacksonville, much like they did when they had their most recent bout of success. Both Holland and Samuel make plays on the ball and would be a massive upgrade for the Jaguars secondary.

Round 3, Pick 66

871. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 3. OT. Stanford. Walker Little

As I said, the Jaguars need to build up their offensive line and an upgrade at the tackle position is on that list. While third-round offensive tackles aren’t always impressive, Walker Little has high potential and could turn into an impact player for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

At 6-foot-7, 320 pounds, Little entered the season as a candidate to enter the conversation as one of the top tackles. However, not playing much in 2020 has hurt Little’s chances of emerging. Nonetheless, the ability is still there.

He might not be the starter on day one, but Little will at the very least create competition at the tackle positions with the hopes of taking over the starting spot in time.
