Predicting the 2021 NFL Draft with a two-round mock draft filled with interesting trade scenarios.

The worldwide pandemic will make the 2021 NFL Draft process more unique than ever before. Last year, we saw many changes to try and help keep everyone safe and this year will be similar. The major difference is that the final college football season of all of these prospects was also impacted.

We have had many top-tier 2021 NFL Draft prospects opt-out of the entire season and many others bow out down the stretch. How will this affect their draft stock? It will certainly be interesting to see how it plays out.

In this mock draft, we are going to run through a complete two-round scenario and look to improve the current situation of nearly every NFL team. While trades are always incredibly difficult to predict, especially this early in the process, let’s give it a shot. Based on team needs, player value and draft capital, it is not difficult to find some trade scenarios that make sense for both parties involved.

The New York Jets kick us off at No. 1 with the obvious pick. There are plenty of surprising selections in this mock draft, but the Jets make the obvious, and correct choice to get things started.

2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 1st Overall

Clemson. 1. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Trevor Lawrence. 30. QB

Last weekend, the New York Jets were dangerously close to losing their spot atop the 2021 NFL Draft order. Luckily, Gregg Williams stepped in and took care of business. With a Hail Mary being the only way they could lose to the Las Vegas Raiders late in the game, Williams decided to rush seven players and line up in man coverage across the board.

He lined undrafted rookie cornerback Lamar Jackson, who ran a 4.58 40-yard dash at the combine, up in man coverage against Henry Ruggs, who ran a blazing 4.27, and the young cornerback was absolutely burned for a long game-winning touchdown. It sure feels like the tank is on in New York and it will likely lead to them holding the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

If this holds true, Trevor Lawrence will be the new face of the New York Jets’ franchise and bringing him into the mix would undoubtedly help reshape the entire organization. Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect to enter the league in recent memory. He is a ridiculous athlete at the position who shows tremendous natural arm talent and pin-point accuracy to all levels of the field.

Lawrence is an incredibly talented player who has massive upside at the next level. The Jets need a true franchise player who they can build their team around and Lawrence would be the perfect fit. This pick has been obvious for a long time and that is not changing any time soon.
