2021 NFL Draft: Five mid-round prospects to target
By Kyle Edmond
Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
One of the more curious cases entering the 2021 NFL Draft will be Jevon Holland. It remains to be seen if he will fall deep enough into the class to be a true steal, but there are a few indicators that show it to be a possibility.
Like the other names on this list, Holland was hurt by not having a 2020 season. He’s played just 27 games at Oregon, but it might be enough for him to not only enter the 2021 NFL Draft but have an immediate impact on a team.
What could separate Holland from the pack and also translate well to the NFL is his ability to locate the ball and make a play. Over his career with Oregon, he’s been able to log 10 passes defended as well as nine interceptions, including one for a touchdown last season.
Where Holland will need to improve at the next level is his ability to make plays away from knocking down or catching passes. He only had 4.5 tackles for loss in 2019 after none in 2018 and hasn’t registered a sack at Oregon. Part of that could be part of the scheme, but it also might be enough for him to fall into the middle rounds.
