Five potential mid-round steals in the 2021 NFL Draft
The 2021 NFL Draft is sure to be full of talent. The top of the class will have the ability to transform teams, but the middle and late rounds are make up the team. The majority of NFL rosters consist of mid or late-round picks and undrafted free agents making these picks just as important, if not more important, than the first round.
Last year, the third round saw running backs Antonio Gibson and Zack Moss selected, who have both had strong impacts during their rookie seasons. In the fourth round, Harrison Bryant went to Cleveland and has had a few big games while the Chiefs took L’Jarius Sneed who has been an incredible asset this season. The fifth round on saw playmakers as well with a list that includes Darnell Mooney, Tyler Bass and even Ben DiNucci.
So as we begin the transition towards the 2021 NFL Draft, who could be the players that go later in the rounds and have a big impact in their rookie season and moving forward? The big names will of course make a difference early on, but these players should be on a watch list as well.
Some of these players have just flown under the radar thus far, but others will fall victim to the flow of the draft. Every year there are players that continuously fall due to depth at the position, that the 2021 NFL Draft will be no different.
No matter the reason these players end up in the middle rounds, they could very well be looked at as steals down the road when the draft is revisited. So without further delay, here are five players that everyone should keep a close eye on during the 2021 NFL Draft and the seasons that follow as they blossom in the league.
