Jacksonville Jaguars: Possible first-round 2021 NFL Draft targets
Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
The Jaguars took cornerback C.J. Henderson in the first round last year and he certainly has plenty of promise. Henderson is a talented player who could grow into a strong number one option for this team. That being said, they do lack impact depth at the cornerback position and could look to address the position early once again.
Jaycee Horn has been fantastic this season, shining in press coverage for South Carolina. He has drastically improved his 2021 NFL Draft stock and should be considered one of the best cornerbacks in the class. He is a big and physical cornerback who has exciting upside at the next level and would pair well with Henderson on the outside.
Having impact talent at the cornerback position is important and a duo of Henderson and Horn would likely be successful for this team for many years. Offensive options are tempting, but adding Horn to the mix would undoubtedly help take the Jags’ defense to the next level.
Jay Tufele, IDL, USC
Taven Bryan has not progressed as well as expected and it has led to a hole on the interior defensive line of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rookie Davon Hamilton seems to be a great piece, but there is a lot of room for improvement to the position as a whole.
Jay Tufele is a big and athletic defensive lineman who can shine in a variety of roles up front. He is quick off of the ball and can create pressure as a one-gap penetrator. Tufele also shows impressive power at the point of attack and does a great job of holding his ground against double-team blocks. If needed, Tufele can sink in and hold his ground in two-gap responsibilities.
Simply put, Tufele is an extremely talented player who could fill an important position of need for the Jaguars. He would undoubtedly be a worthy first-round target for this team.
