1. Indianapolis Colts

When Frank Reich left the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles for the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, he unquestionably figured it would be a long-term marriage with quarterback Andrew Luck.

Luck’s retirement changed the landscape of the NFL and certainly altered Reich’s long-term plans with the team.

Reich became the Eagles’ offensive coordinator in 2016 when the team drafted Carson Wentz and traded the farm to get him. He was Wentz’ offensive coordinator in 2017 when he played at an MVP level before a knee injury knocked him out for the season.

Since Reich’s departure, Wentz has not been the same player. Reich has put together a contender with the Colts and somehow, they are going to have the most cap space of any NFL team in 2021.

Philip Rivers came to the Colts on a one-year deal. Jacoby Brissett is also slated for free agency. Reich is probably more interested in a long-term solution than going year-to-year, wondering who his quarterback will be.

The Colts could not be a more perfect situation for Wentz.

A reunion with Reich puts him back with the guy who helped make him great. The Colts have a defense that can really support Wentz and a variety of skill position players who can make him better as well.

The Eagles probably wouldn’t have any issue talking the Colts into a first-round pick for Wentz given their QB situation in 2021. Cap space won’t be an issue for the Colts.

This move makes far too much sense not to happen if the Eagles are truly looking to deal Wentz.
