Los Angeles Chargers: Joe Brady (Carolina Panthers OC)

The Los Angeles Chargers are fresh off of the worst blowout in franchise history, losing 45-0 at home to the New England Patriots.

Justin Herbert has shown in the 2020 season that he was a steal even at the sixth overall pick in the draft, and he’s posted numbers that had him on pace to break NFL records.

Although he’s come crashing back to earth in recent weeks, the Chargers know they have something in Herbert and when healthy, their defense could be one of the best in the NFL.

Following the blueprint set by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 when they hired Sean McVay and Wade Phillips, the Chargers go after the wunderkind offensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers, Joe Brady, and bank on his tremendous upside.

Brady basically got his break in the NFL as an offensive assistant working under Sean Payton with the New Orleans Saints for two seasons before he became the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at LSU in 2019.

He’s done a tremendous job as Matt Rhule’s offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers in 2020, and teams will undoubtedly see his upside as a future head coach at the age of 31.

Will the Chargers take a risk like this? It could be worthwhile for them, considering the talent they have on offense and how must upside there is with a Herbert and Brady pairing.
