New York Jets: 3 2021 NFL Draft prospects to pair with Trevor Lawrence

One of the things that will be important for the development of Trevor Lawrence will be keeping him upright and the New York Jets haven’t exactly been able to do that this year for Sam Darnold. So far this season the Jets’ offensive line has allowed the fifth-most sacks in the league, making the unit a priority once again this offseason.
One of the better offensive linemen in the 2021 NFL Draft class will be Wyatt Davis. After taking Mekhi Becton last year, a guard could be more worthwhile for the Jets and that’s where Davis thrives. A First Team All-American a year ago, Davis has been a top name at the position for a while now and would be a big step in improving the offensive line for the Jets.
After blocking for a dual-threat quarterback in Justin Fields for the past two seasons, the transition to blocking for Trevor Lawrence should be easier. Davis can lineup next to Becton and solidify the blindside for Lawrence in hopes of keeping him standing during his rookie season.
While it isn’t a flashy pick like Chase or Etienne, this one is just as needed, if not more needed, for Lawrence to have success and develop over time.
