Jim Harbaugh

The writing is almost on the wall for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines to part ways. Expected to be the savior of the program, Harbaugh has fallen short of expectations and could make a return to the NFL.

Harbaugh spent four seasons in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014, remaining .500 or better each season for a 44-19-1 record over his tenure. He was also able to lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in his second season, being 2012 and was named Coach of the Year in 2011.

The situation in San Francisco was much better than the one he would walk into with the New York Jets, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be able to do it. When Harbaugh arrived in San Francisco they were coming off a 6-10 record but had been 8-8 just two years prior.

There’s a lot of reasons to not want Harbaugh, but many aren’t football related and from his antics. When you look at his success in San Francisco it’s at least intriguing to think about him working with Trevor Lawrence in New York. He had success with a combination of Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick. Imagine what he could do with Lawrence.
