New York Jets: Five ideal head coach fits for Trevor Lawrence
By Kyle Edmond
Joe Brady
One of the hottest names in football coaching as a whole the last couple of seasons has been Joe Brady. After taking over the LSU offensive coordinator role and helping lead them to a National Championship, Brady has been a rising star. He assisted in the rise of Joe Burrow and now has been an influential part of the Carolina Panthers’ success.
Before the season began the Panthers were viewed as a team that could be in the running for Trevor Lawrence due to a poor roster. However, Brady might get to work with Lawrence regardless should the New York Jets consider him for their next head coach.
Brady has been able to create a strong offense in Carolina with Teddy Bridgewater, despite not having Christian McCaffrey for the majority of the season. His style has translated well to the NFL and the Jets might be the team to see if it moves as smoothly to a head coaching role.
The knock against Brady is his age and experience. He’s only 31-years-old and has been with Carolina for one season after just one season with LSU. In fact, Brady started coaching in just 2013. That isn’t to say he can’t do the job, but given the state of the Jets, he might not be the best fit.
