32. Scouting Report. Gregory Rousseau. 20. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Miami. player

The Arizona Cardinals find themselves in an opportunistic position in this mock draft scenario.

All throughout the 2020 offseason, Miami’s Gregory Rousseau was considered the top EDGE player in the entire class, based pretty much on one season of production.

Rousseau’s 2019 season at Miami was fantastic as he racked up 54 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 15.5 sacks.

That kind of production doesn’t happen by accident.

But Rousseau doesn’t have the same type of talent off the edge as guys like Myles Garrett and Chase Young.

Physically, Rousseau is as gifted as they come with his length, explosiveness, and fluid movements off the edge. Technically, he’s not nearly as refined as other guys and NFL analysts and scouts wanted to see how he would fare coming off that huge season, where his production was mostly based on winning with his physical traits.

This is a high-upside pick for the Cardinals but Rousseau might be more of a project than his numbers would suggest. With just one full season to evaluate, it’s hard to know.
