Alabama center Landon Dickerson is undoubtedly a 2021 NFL Draft prospect to watch.

The center position does not often see a ton of attention. If we are hearing too much about a center on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, it is likely not a good sign of their performance. That being said, having a strong and stable presence at the center position is incredibly important and there is a solid group of centers that are about to enter the league in the 2021 NFL Draft class.

Creed Humphrey is commonly considered the top center prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class, and for good reason. Humphrey is an extremely reliable blocker in the middle who undoubtedly has a bright future at the next level. However, there is a lot of unknown at the position. Today, we are going to take a look at another talented center in the 2021 NFL Draft. Let’s get to know Landon Dickerson out of Alabama.

Dickerson is a former highly-ranked recruit out of North Carolina who began his college career at Florida State. He spent three injury-riddled seasons with the Seminoles before making the move to Alabama. Dickerson was a solid contribtor when he was healthy at Florida State, but he seemed to be injured more often than not.

Dickerson became an immediate starter at Alabama last season, having success at both right guard and center. He eventually settled in as the Crimson Tide’s starting center and has taken his game to the next level this season.

While Dickerson is not the most impressive mover in space, he is a big and powerful offensive lineman who can dominate at the point of attack. He clears out rushing lanes with absolute ease and does a great job of anchoring in and protecting against power in pass protection.

Dickerson does have the quickness to reach the second-level in the run game, but he is never going to be a guy who you want to pull out in space and run behind. He is a mauler in the run game who shows great on-field awareness and is a stable presence in the middle of the offensive line.

Simply put, Dickerson is a talented 2021 NFL Draft prospect who should end up landing softly as a Day 2 selection next April.
