2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 20th Overall

Pick Analysis. 20. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. player. 59. Scouting Report. LB. Notre Dame

The Miami Dolphins have been one of the most surprising competitors in the NFL this season and they are serious threats to make the post-season this year. They have put together a strong defensive unit and rookie quarterback Tua Tagovialoa has injected some life into the offense. Make no mistake about it, the Dolphins are a talented team with a bright future.

Earlier in this mock draft, Miami snagged wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, giving them much-needed speed in their stock of offensive weapons. With their own first-round selection, Miami gives some attention to the defensive side of the ball with the addition of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

Owusu-Koramoah is a converted safety prospect who has taken his game to the next level since he made the move to linebacker. He is a ridiculously athletic linebacker prospect who is explosive in small spaces and shows fantastic range on the field. Owusu-Koramoah is a slippery linebacker who can shed blocks with speed and is a reliable tackler in space.

Most importantly, Owusu-Koramoah has a ton of natural upside in pass coverage. He is a sticky man-to-man defender who will be able to defend most running backs and tight ends at the next level and can even take some coverage reps against some slot receivers. Owusu-Koramoah also shows good instincts in zone coverage and can be used as a weapon in the blitz game.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores loves versatility at the linebacker position and Owusu-Koramoah certainly has plenty of versatility in his game. The Dolphins use the first round of this mock draft to make impact additions on both sides of the ball.
