2021 NFL Draft: Kadarius Toney will be a big-time NFL weapon.

The 2021 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent at the wide receiver position. Considering how good the 2020 class was at receiver, it’s not impossible to think the 2021 crop could be even better or at least deeper near the top.

One of the top weapons emerging as a go-to threat in 2020 is Florida Gators receiver Kadarius Toney.

Toney is just 6-feet, 193 pounds, but he is one of the most exciting playmakers in all of college football. Heading into the 2020 season, he had played all three of the previous seasons with the Gators but his production was modest.

The Gators got him involved in their offense but with so many other talented playmakers (three receivers drafted in 2020) Toney had to maximize his production with just 50 receptions in three seasons.

Thankfully for Florida, he stayed the course.

Toney has reaped the benefits of patience in 2020 and with Kyle Trask playing the best football of his life, Toney has been one of the biggest benefactors. He has already caught 36 passes for 396 yards and six touchdowns in 2020 — easily career highs — and as I’m typing this article, he’s scored the Gator’s first touchdown in a game against Vanderbilt.

What does Toney bring to the table that makes him so special? This guy is a wizard in the open field, but he runs NFL-caliber routes as well.

This play gives a picture of the best of all of Toney’s top traits:

It will not be shocking if this guy is among the top 50-75 players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, and if he keeps his production up throughout the rest of this season, he could go even higher. NFL teams might be leery about Toney’s lack of production in his first three seasons with the Gators, but his traits and production now that he’s gotten an opportunity to be featured are impossible to ignore.

His route running, speed, quickness, and ability to make defenders miss in the open field will make Kadarius Toney a huge weapon at the next level.
