D’Andre Swift, RB, Detroit Lions

The 2020 season began a bit sour for D’Andre Swift, dropping a game-winning touchdown in the end zone against the Bears. However, some people might forget that he still scored a touchdown in that game. Overall, the season has been steadily getting better for Swift.

Splitting a backfield with Adrian Peterson and at times Kerryon Johnson didn’t paint the best picture for Swift at the beginning of the season, but he’s made the most of his opportunities which is buying him more time on the field.

This past week Swift was even given the start and shined. He was able to tally his second receiving touchdown of the season while rushing for 81 yards on a season-high 16 carries and added another 68 yards through the air for 149 yards from scrimmage.

Week six against Jacksonville also was a big game for Swift. He logged his lone 100-yard rushing game of the season, going for 116 while also finding the end zone twice on the ground.

In all, Swift has made the most of his chances and has produced six touchdowns. His offensive opportunities are continuing to increase after playing on 73% of the offensive snaps last week. Should that number stabilize or continue to rise, watch for him to break out at some point during the second half of the season.
