1. First round, first pick: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

The Jaguars would have the second pick in the 2021 NFL Draft if the season ended today, and right now the only pick they should think about making with that selection is Ohio State’s star quarterback Justin Fields.

Fields, through three games in 2020, has as many touchdown passes (11) as he does incompletions.

What’s even crazier is that a number of those incomplete passes were catchable ones, even possible touchdowns.

Fields is playing out of his mind right now, spreading the ball around and pushing it to every level of the field while also doing his usual excellent work as a runner. He has a pair of rushing touchdowns in Ohio State’s first three games.

There is no question that Fields is a worthy potential top-three pick candidate. He had a huge season for Ohio State in 2019 when he threw 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Crazy enough, Fields has gotten even better. He looks like he’s seeing the field much better, going through his progressions, and manipulating defenses as much as he is beating them with his physical abilities.
