Jaguars 2021 mock draft: Justin Fields leads the rebuild project
Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 mock draft: Justin Fields leads the rebuild.
The Jacksonville Jaguars opened the 2020 season with a nice win against the Indianapolis Colts. After what everyone had seen in 2019 from Gardner Minshew, the victory to open the season looked like it could be a sign that, potentially, the Jaguars had struck gold with the former Washington State quarterback.
Although Minshew has certainly been a very good sixth-round pick and has proven he is a capable NFL starting quarterback, there’s almost no question that the Jaguars have to look at the quarterback position atop the 2021 NFL Draft.
After eight straight losses, the Jaguars are in a position to get one of the best quarterback prospects in college football. Right now, they are projected to earn the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
After making a number of trades for veteran players, the Jaguars’ draft capital does not just end with the second overall pick, either. They have the Rams’ 2021 first-round pick after the Jalen Ramsey trade and the Vikings’ second-round pick after the Yannick Ngakoue trade.
The Jaguars also have additional selections in the fourth, fifth, and seventh rounds.
This kind of draft capital is going to help reshape this Jaguars roster and provide them with the foundation for their rebuilding process.
How will the Jaguars use these assets?
Let’s look at an early three-round mock draft for 2021 for the Jaguars.
