Los Angeles Chargers: Early top positions of need for 2021 NFL Draft
By Ian Higgins
Interior Offensive Line
2020 Starters: Trai Turner, Mike Pouncey (FA), Forrest Lamp (FA)
The interior of the Los Angeles Chargers offensive line looks to be devastated by the coming offseason. Three of the four players who have started at guard or center for the Chargers this season will be free agents. With Pouncey likely out the door, Los Angeles needs a sustainable solution.
The Los Angeles Chargers offense has also lacked rushing production crucial to helping a young quarterback, loading the responsibility of the offense onto Herbert’s shoulders. Until this offensive line can be reinforced with a more physical presence, receiving backs such as Ekeler will continue to be the only viable options within their scheme.

Wyatt Davis OG
Wyatt Davis is the next offensive guard prospect to find himself in contention for a top-15 selection. Few interior linemen find themselves held in such high regard, and when they have they nearly always pan-out into perennial all-pros. Davis is an offensive punisher who brings physical retaliation to the line of scrimmage. Compared to current Colts’ All-Pro Quenton Nelson, Davis figures to be an offense-altering run blocker with the athleticism to handle athletic interior pass-rushers.
The Los Angeles Chargers need a full rework of their offensive line, building from the right with starters Trai Turner and Bryan Bulaga. Recently acquired power-back Kalen Ballage has shown potential for a power-run element in the Chargers offense, which would be a welcome addition to help the rookie signal-caller. Adding Davis would open new opportunities for their running game with physical superiority and help further open the Chargers’ offense.
