3. Third round: Paris Ford, S, Pittsburgh

With their third-round pick, the Denver Broncos again go to the defensive side of the ball and Pittsburgh’s Paris Ford.

Ford is known for being an aggressive enforcer at the safety position, and the scouting reports on his game sound almost identical to what Kareem Jackson has been bringing to the Broncos’ secondary the past couple of years.

Jackson has been a tremendous pickup for Denver, transitioning from the cornerback position to safety full-time and proving to be one of the best run defenders in the league from that position.

Jackson’s hard-hitting, aggressive style has led to some huge plays for the Denver defense, but he has just one year left on his contract after 2020.

Combined with the uncertainty now of Justin Simmons’ future with the team, the Broncos may be in more desperate need of safety reinforcements than meets the eye right now.

Ford has six interceptions and three forced fumbles over his last 19 games, showing his ability to help create turnovers as well as make big hits.
