2021 NFL Draft: 5 players who have boosted their stock the most
1. Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
There has been no bigger riser in college football this year than BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, who had shown his potential in the past but has been healthy this year and absolutely fantastic.
So far in 2020, Wilson is completing over 75 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns and just two interceptions, and he’s also added eight touchdowns on the ground. That has all happened in just eight games.
Wilson has been one of the most accurate downfield passers in all of college football this season, and he might be making the best throws on the run of any quarterback in college football right now.
Whether it’s pocket presence, velocity on throws, throwing on the move, making plays off-script, seeing the field, or just making difficult throws look very easy in general, Wilson has been good enough this season to warrant legitimate top 10 talk, and possibly top five.
There are times when it looks like Wilson has a backyard football style of foundation to his play, but he makes great decisions with the football and doesn’t have a problem with accuracy.
No player in college football has done more to improve their NFL Draft standing than Wilson, who is this year’s “it” guy at the quarterback position. Even considering the presence of Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields at the top of the QB class, there are some who think Wilson could contend for QB2 status with his play in 2020.
