2021 NFL Draft: 5 players who have boosted their stock the most
4. Kyle Trask, QB, Florida
One player who has really boosted their stock is Florida quarterback Kyle Trask, who might be a front-runner for the Heisman trophy. Trask has been slinging the ball all over the yard for the Gators and is on an even better pace than Joe Burrow was a season ago.
In fact, if Trask were guaranteed a 15-game season like Burrow had last season, he would be on pace for 70 touchdown passes at the present moment.
His productivity has been outstanding this year, and he’s doing a great job of spreading the ball around to all of Florida’s talented weapons, with a heavy emphasis on tight end Kyle Pitts.
Trask entered the 2020 season as the starter for the first time since he was a freshman in high school. He got plenty of time as the starter in 2019 but he came in as the second option.
In 2020, he’s been putting on a clinic every week with his ball placement and timing.
The big questions about Trask, now that he’s under the NFL microscope, are around his overall pocket mobility and velocity as a passer.
It’s clear that Trask, despite being a big-bodied QB, does not have the strongest arm in this class, but he has shown that he can make consistently good decisions with the ball and let his receivers make plays.
Trask has taken himself from a late-round/UDFA type to a possible day two selection.
