2021 NFL Draft: Jets, Jaguars make trades in new 2021 NFL mock draft

New England finally drafts a QB
The New England Patriots have been reluctant to draft quarterbacks when needed, but the stars might align in the 2021 NFL Draft. Not only does Zach Wilson just seem like a Bill Belichick draft pick, but Belichick has more reasons to draft him than just needing a quarterback.
Wilson has burst onto the scene this year, but unlike others before him to do so, he has more experience. Wilson played in nine games each of the last two seasons and posted rather consistent numbers. However, his touchdown total has jumped off the charts this year and it’s drawing the attention of NFL teams.
As for the Patriots, they seem lost without Tom Brady. Cam Newton has been alright, but he doesn’t seem to fit what New England wants to do and what Bill Belichick wants out of his team. Additionally, Belichick has talked about the financial struggles of the Patriots. One easy way to save money as a team is to invest in a young quarterback.
Five years of cheap quarterback play and drastically help a team that is up against it in terms of the salary cap. Wilson would help in that regard but also would provide a young quarterback of the future for Belichick and the Patriots.
