2021 NFL Draft: Jets, Jaguars make trades in new 2021 NFL mock draft

Jets redirect franchise with Lawrence selection
The New York Jets will have a lot of work to do this offseason, there’s no denying that. Any team that is winless at the halfway point of the season needs more than just one player. However, taking Trevor Lawrence would be a huge step.
Letting go of Adam Gase will be a starting point for the Jets and they will need to find a coach that will be able to allow Lawrence to blossom the way that everyone knows he can. Sam Darnold hasn’t worked out in New York for a variety of reasons, but one of the main ones is Gase.
Placing Lawrence and a new head coach in the Jets’ locker room will begin a much-needed culture change. This team has fallen into the abyss since the “butt fumble” and haven’t been able to regroup.
There will still be a lot of work to be done for this team to be competing at a high level, but adding Lawrence as the leader will be huge. Look at the difference that Joe Burrow has made this year in Cincinnati. While the supporting cast is a bit better for Burrow, Lawrence should be able to have similar success in New York.
