49ers 2021 mock draft: Trading up for BYU QB Zach Wilson
Second round: Josh Myers, IOL, Ohio State
The 49ers have had some notable injury issues on the interior offensive line in the 2020 season.
Ben Garland and former big-money free agent pickup Weston Richburg both landed on IR this season, and the 49ers could choose to pursue interior offensive line with one of their top picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Assuming they could utilize their 2021 and 2022 first-round picks to move up high for Zach Wilson and salvage their second-round pick in 2021, this could be a tremendous value.
Josh Myers is a big center prospect out of Ohio State with tremendous mobility and pass protecting ability.
With so many good interior rushers in the NFL these days, your protection at those three interior spots has to be rock solid. It helps for Myers to play with such a strong supporting cast on the Buckeyes (Wyatt Davis is arguably the best interior line prospect in the country) but he is able to hold his own.
The 49ers could look at upgrading their depth in the secondary with whatever picks they have left, but a draft class including Zach Wilson and Josh Myers could help get this offense playing at a high level over the long-term.
