Projected trade with Cowboys

This mock draft has just one projected trade, and it’s this one.

Assuming the Dallas Cowboys keep Dak Prescott, the offensive side of the ball is not going to be an issue.

They have invested so much draft capital and so much money on that side of the ball that they would be fools to go with anything other than defense with their top pick in 2021.

Unfortunately for Dallas, even with two quarterbacks going before their pick, the top non-QB on the board is Penei Sewell, an offensive tackle. The Cowboys could take him for sure, but are they going to take Sewell over Tyron Smith?

If I’m Dallas, I would be mortgaging this pick to the highest-bidding top 10 team that was in love with Sewell and collecting future picks. The Cincinnati Bengals have a legit star in Joe Burrow and they need to invest in his protection.

If giving up a 2022 first-round pick seals the deal, so be it.

The Bengals trade up with Dallas (from 9) to get Sewell and solidify their left tackle spot for the foreseeable future.

Sewell is one of the best pass protecting tackles to come along in some time, and the Bengals could try and upgrade the interior offensive line through free agency or starting in round two.
