Pick Analysis. WR. Alabama. 12. player. Scouting Report. DeVonta Smith. 50

The Detroit Lions have been a popular destination for wide receivers since we’ve been putting together 2021 NFL mock drafts.

DeVonta Smith, however, is a newcomer to the top 12 picks.

Without Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and now Jaylen Waddle, Smith has shined and proven he can stand alone as a WR1 at the college or NFL level.

He might be a different “type” of WR1, but he is capable of eating up targets, making big plays deep downfield, or creating after the catch.

With his speed and route-running ability, the Lions would hopefully have a perfect complement to Kenny Golladay, who should be expected to be slapped with a franchise tag or extension at some point in the 2021 offseason.

Smith has 32 total touchdowns and counting in his time with the Crimson Tide. He is a big-time playmaker.
