If the opportunity presents itself, I could certainly see the Carolina Panthers taking a franchise quarterback in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. However, this quarterback class is a bit top-heavy and there is unlikely to be value at the position in this range. With Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Trey Lance off of the board, quarterback is not a real option for the Carolina Panthers here at No. 12.

Instead, the Panthers snag Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, adding to their already strong group of offensive weapons. Robby Anderson has been fantastic for the team this season and D.J. Moore continues to grow into an impact weapon on the outside. On top of that, Christian McCaffrey is arguably the best running back in the entire NFL. Adding Pitts to this mix would just be the cherry on top.

Pitts is not the most well-rounded tight end prospect, but he is undoubtedly a dynamic weapon in the passing game. His combination of size, speed and athleticism is undoubtedly impressive and will make him an absolute matchup nightmare at the next level. Most linebackers are far too slow to defend Pitts while most defensive backs are too small. He is an impressive jump-ball receiver who also shows plenty of ability as a run-after-catch receiver.

Pitts will be listed as a tight end at the next level, but he is essentially a wide receiver. Adding him to the mix of their already impressive group of weapons will only take this offense to the next level. Instead of opting for a new franchise quarterback, the Carolina Panthers offer Teddy Bridgewater a massive opportunity for success.
