The Miami Dolphins can surround Tua Tagovailoa with playmakers in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Miami Dolphins have been a pleasant surprise in the first half of the 2020 NFL season.

After winning more games than anyone thought they would in 2019 — Brian Flores’ first season as head coach — the Dolphins find themselves on a three-game winning streak and with a very solid 4-3 record going into Tua Tagovailoa’s second career start.

Tagovailoa’s first NFL start did not go great from a production perspective, but the Dolphins played so well defensively that it didn’t matter.

As a matter of fact, the Dolphins rank number one in the NFL in points allowed defensively (under 19) and have given up just 34 points in their most recent three games, which would explain why they’ve caught fire.

Even with their recent winning streak, the Dolphins are still poised for a very high top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That is because the Houston Texans are still paying up for left tackle Laremy Tunsil.

Not Bill O’Brien’s best work.

The Dolphins have been putting up decent numbers offensively despite not having a who’s who of big-name players on that side of the ball. Their young offensive line is learning quickly, but the Dolphins have a chance with their 2021 NFL Draft picks to really upgrade that side of the ball and get playmakers for Tua Tagovailoa.

Here’s a quick three-round mock draft of selections to see what the future could look like in South Beach.
