1. First round: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense has a number of “unicorn” types of players already with Joey Bosa on the defensive line, Derwin James in the secondary, and Kenneth Murray at the linebacker position.

The cornerback position is somewhat of a question mark for this team beyond the 2020 season.

The team just traded Desmond King — a former All-Pro return man and slot corner — to the Titans for pennies on the dollar. Free agent acquisition Chris Harris Jr. has been hurt, and Casey Hayward is going to be 32 next season.

The Chargers obviously need an infusion of youth at the cornerback position, and Caleb Farley would certainly provide that.

The Virginia Tech cornerback is a ridiculous athlete at 6-foot-2, 207 pounds. He has tremendous ball production and physical tools, and would be a tremendous fit along with some of the other big-time athletes on the Chargers’ defense.

Justin Herbert shouldn’t have to worry about blowing a lead when putting up 30-plus points. Farley is a guy who can cause game-altering turnovers.
