Working to improve the New England Patriots with a four-round 2021 NFL mock draft.

Coming off of an embarrassing 33-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the New England Patriots are in unprecedented territory. Throughout the entire Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era, this team was always in the mix for a deep postseason run. Right now, that seems incredibly unlikely.

The defense has been okay, but they are far from the dominant unit of a year ago. Cam Newton got off to a great start with the Pats, but his play has slipped in a big way and they do not have any reliable offensive playmakers to make life easier on their star quarterback.

While it would be silly to completely count a Belichick-led team out, things in New England are clearly not looking great. Simply put, this team lacks impact talent on both sides of the ball and they appear to be going nowhere fast. The Patriots may not even be postseason contenders when it is all said and done.

While everything could certainly change before long, this looks like a team that should be aggressive looking to improve over the offseason. Expect the New England Patriots to be aggressive in free agency and they will likely be picking much higher in the 2021 NFL Draft than we are used to seeing.

What kind of players could the Patriots be looking to target with their improved draft capital? Let’s take a look, with a four-round 2021 NFL mock draft for the team. In this mock draft, the New England Patriots first go on the clock at the 11th overall selection.
