How to watch Michigan vs. Michigan state via an online live stream and more game details.

An interesting in-state rivalry game will take place this weekend as the Michigan Wolverines will play host to the Michigan State Spartans. The Wolverines lead the all-time series with a record of 71-36-5 against the Spartans.

The Wolverines have taken care of business against Michigan State in recent years, winning each of their last two matchups and three out of the last four years. However, Michigan State dominated the stretch before winning seven of eight matchups from 2008-2015.

After seeing both of these teams last week, the 13th-ranked Wolverines come in as easy favorites in this game. The Wolverines cruised to a 49-24 win over Minnesota last week, overwhelming a solid opponent. Quarterback Joe Milton looked great in the game, completing 15-of-22 passes for 225 yards and one touchdown. He also carried the ball eight times for 52 yards and one touchdown.

Milton played extremely well, looking strong and poised in the pocket and understanding when to escape and make a play. He has an impressive combination of raw arm talent and athleticism that gives him an extremely high ceiling at the quarterback position. It will be exciting to see Milton continue to grow this season and this rivalry game will be a tough test.

More from NFL Mocks

Defensively, the Wolverines are led by an impressive front seven. Edge rushers Kwity Paye and Aidan Hutchinson are both high-level 2021 NFL Draft prospects who undoubtedly have bright futures. Paye, in particular, was fantastic against Minnesota, wreaking havoc up front all night long and finishing the game with two sacks. Linebacker Cameron McGrone is another high-level draft prospect who can impact the game in a variety of ways.

The Spartan offense is led by junior quarterback Rocky Lombardi who made his first start since his freshman season in 2018 last week in the loss to Rutgers. Lombardi certainly made some mistakes in the game, but he spread the ball around the field relatively well.

Sophomore wide receiver Jayden Reed was Lombardi’s primary target, catching 11 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, but he did fumble the ball twice. Reed is an exciting playmaker who transferred to Michigan State this season from Western Michigan. It will be interesting to see what kind of damage Lombardi and Reed can do against this tough Michigan defense.

The Wolverines stand out as the clear favorites in this game and should be taken seriously as contenders in the Big Ten this season. If Milton can continue to play at a high level, the sky is the limit for this team. They should be able to take care of business this weekend, but the Spartans are not going to go away without a fight. Whether it is for college football or NFL Draft reasons, this game is undoubtedly worth checking out.
