New York Giants

If the season ended today, the New York Giants would hold the second pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That most likely means that Trevor Lawrence is off the board and the team would have the option to take anyone else. While players like Justin Fields or Penei Sewell might be tempting, the Giants might be wise to move down in the order and trade with a team that is trying to snag Fields.

Teams pay high prices to ensure they select the quarterback they want. With Daniel Jones still very early in his career, New York could look to build up the rest of the roster instead of investing in a position that they recently did. The same reasoning goes for Sewell after taking Andrew Thomas with the fourth pick this past draft.

The Giants still have a lot of holes on their roster, so moving down to bring in a haul of selections might be their best option. While Fields or Sewell might be an upgrade, they would be getting more value if they draft other positions. They could stay put to do this, but odds are phones will be ringing off the hook for teams in the first few selections given how hyped up this quarterback class is becoming.
