Green Bay Packers should trade for Cowboys WR Michael Gallup
The Green Bay Packers should make Michael Gallup a priority at the trade deadline.
The Green Bay Packers kept on rolling this week, walking away with a dominant 35-20 win over the Houston Texans. Aaron Rodgers continued to shine in this one, completing 23-of-34 passes for 283 yards and four touchdowns.
Rodgers was brilliant, but I cannot help but wonder how great he could be if he had more offensive weapons to work with. Right now, Davante Adams is the only high-level pass-catcher on the Green Bay Packers roster. Adams is great, but he could use some help.
The NFL trade deadline is just over a week away, as teams have until November 3rd to make a deal. This could present an opportunity for the Packers to find Rodgers some help. There are plenty of exciting receivers around the league who could help Green Bay, but Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup feels like a perfect fit and a realistic addition.

After falling 25-3 to Washington on Sunday, the Cowboys are now 2-5 on the year. With the defense an absolute mess and Dak Prescott out for the season, Dallas is not going anywhere this season. They could easily be sellers at the deadline and Gallup stands out as a player who they could look to move.
Gallup to Green Bay makes sense for both sides
The Cowboys appear ready to move forward with Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb as their primary options in the passing game. Both Cooper and Lamb are both locked up for the long-term, while Gallup will become a free agent after the 2021 season. Moving him now for a more long-term piece would certainly make some sense for Dallas.
Despite being a potential trade candidate for the Cowboys, Gallup is an extremely talented player who certainly has plenty of value. He is an exciting big-play receiver who can win with speed down the field and tracks the ball in the air incredibly well. Gallup has only hauled in 19 receptions on the year, but his 19.5 yards per reception average is certainly encouraging.
Simply put, the Green Bay Packers would benefit from adding another impact pass-catcher to the mix and a reliable deep target would be ideal. Gallup is a gifted player who would fit their offense well and should be obtainable from Dallas for a reasonable cost. Sending Gallup to Green Bay in exchange for their 2021 third-round pick would make a lot of sense for both sides.
