Buffalo Bills

What was once the strength of the Buffalo Bills is what seems to be holding them back. Did you see the Chiefs run all over the Bills Monday night? Maybe it is due to the opting out of Star Lotulelei, but it’s clear they need some help upfront. The Jags should be sellers and Abry Jones is a solid option to bring into the mix.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have officially named Tua Tagovailoa their starting quarterback going forward. I think they should get him another reliable weapon, such as veteran Marvin Jones Jr.

Jones, DeVante Parker, and Preston Williams would be a very solid trio for the young Phins offense who has a ton of draft capital coming up and can afford to move on from Eric Rowe with the emergence of Bobby McCain and rookie Brandon Jones.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots tried a similar move with another former Bengals receiver a year ago, trading a second-round pick for Mohamed Sanu prior to the NFL trade deadline and it did not pan out well.

But A.J. Green is a different animal. He may be past his prime with some recent injury concerns, but he still has the talent to help a team like the Patriots who are lacking a reliable, big-body target for Cam Newton to loft it up to.

New York Jets

At this point, it seems like a forgone conclusion that the New York Jets will have the first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. What does that mean? They will almost certainly choose Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. And what does that mean? They will almost certainly be moving on from Sam Darnold.

While a mid-season trade for the young quarterback does not seem likely, I don’t think it would be out of the question. If a team like the Colts has some quarterback struggles of their own and think Darnold would put them in a better position for the rest of this season and going forward, he could be on the move.

It doesn’t make the most sense to me for the Jets to trade a 22-year-old former top-three pick while trying to rebuild, but who says that the Jets will make sense? The new regime seems to be getting rid of anyone and everyone they didn’t draft in favor of chances to draft players of their own so for the right price I’m guessing Williams could be had.

Avery Williamson seems like a likely salary dump candidate for the Jets, and there should be a market for him with many teams needed linebacking help approaching the NFL trade deadline. The Jets opt to improve their draft stock a bit and give some younger players a chance to earn their stripes.
