Interior Offensive Line

If the New York Jets land the number one pick they will most likely grab their new franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence. But in order to make sure he doesn’t end up damaged goods like Sam Darnold, they will have to protect him.

It looks like they have found their franchise left tackle in Mekhi Becton and George Fant has surprised a lot of people with his play so far this season. However, the interior positions on the line have been pretty shaky.

The only two linemen guaranteed to be here beyond this season are Becton and McGovern so the two guard positions will be put on notice.

If Alex Lewis and Greg Van Roten do not improve their performances, they will be suiting up for a different team in 2021.

Joe Douglas will be busy during the trade deadline trying to offload players that do not fit his vision for the future. So expect some draft capital coming the Jets’ way. And if Douglas is smart some of the picks will be used to build a better wall for whoever is throwing the football next season for green and white.

Wyatt Davis out of Ohio State would be a dream scenario with their second first-round pick they received from Seattle, but if he’s off the board the Buckeyes also have Josh Myers who could go in the top two rounds of the draft. Remember McGovern can play both center and guard so he should not stop the New York Jets from picking a center in the 2021 NFL Draft.
